 Kokanee Salmon
Identification Characteristics:
Silver on sides with a bluish black top and white on stomach
During spawning season body color changes -
those that change the most have green heads and bright red sides

Body color is light green or grey, dark green, brown or almost black with lighter colored spots.
This species is 15-20 inches long, weighing an average of 10 pounds but they have been known to exceed 100 pounds.

The colouring ranges from a yellow, light brown or tan with a lacelike pattern of dark brown or black. At times adults may be dark brown or black.

The mature rainbow averages a length up to 18 inches and usually weighs 8-9 pounds but has been known to reach 36 pounds
